Ceramics and marble sector
Ceramic tiles are a global product, at the same time functional, because they are resistant over time. They are also an aesthetic product, because for over two millennia, with their design and beauty, they have furnished our homes by amiably synthesizing solidity and aesthetics in a few square centimeters. In the past, tiles were even elevated to a work of art and today its market represents a growth factor for our economy and Made in Italy.
It is therefore not surprising that the entire ceramic and marble sector, variously represented in the production, for example, of tiles, sanitaryware, tableware, marble, ornamental stones and stone materials, is not only strategically organized into districts, with manufacturers concentrated near the quarries, but is also a sector particularly inclined to invest in research, oriented towards quality and maximum recovery/reuse of process water.
Water is necessary from the initial phase of clay preparation, to obtain a homogeneous and workable paste. Later, during the forming phase, water is used to shape the piece, while in the firing phase it is used to control the temperature and surface tension of the piece itself.
Water also plays an important role in the decoration phase, where it is used to thin paints and pigments.
